Katie Costa completed her Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In addition, Mrs. Costa received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology (with an emphasis in ABA) at California State University, Sacramento.
Mrs. Costa has over ten years of experience in providing ABA therapy to children with special needs, specializing in children on the autism spectrum. She began working at ABC as a tutor in 2002. Throughout her years of employment at ABC, Mrs. Costa has served in all in-home positions (including Lead Tutor, Field Trainer, Behavior Consultant, Senior Behavior Consultant, Program Manager, Associate Director, ). Mrs. Costa has been responsible for completing functional behavior assessments, designing programs as well as behavior intervention plans, implementing and training procedures to all levels of staff, conducting Behavior Parent Training classes as well as conducting workshops for all new staff members.
As Director, she is responsible for supervising and overseeing all in-home and center-based programs and staff in the Sacramento and Roseville locations. Mrs. Costa is also responsible for providing clinical supervision to a number of Behavior Consultants and has assisted in providing consultation internationally for early intervention programs in Romania.
