What does the job entail?

  • Implementing behavioral services one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum at our center, schools, and/or in home

  • Running lessons and taking data

  • Support and mentorship from supervisors along the way

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older

  • High school diploma or GED

  • California state-issued ID

  • Reliable transportation & ability to be on-time for sessions

  • Current immunizations and physical

  • Pay increase upon passing of Registered Behavior Technician exam (which we prepare you for)

  • Serving the needs of children with autism and developmental disabilities using ABA

  • An average caseload of 8-10 children with autism 

  • Providing behavior intervention services

  • Consulting for outside facilities (care homes, vocational programs, school districts)

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or BCaBA (BCBA preferred)

ABC School is a non-public school serving Preschool through 6th grade students with autism and other developmental disabilities in order to help them build communication, socialization, and classroom skills.  Our goal is to improve the lives of our students and their families and provide them the needed skills to transition to a less restrictive setting.  ABC uses the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to target critical learning skills and incorporate them into a functional classroom framework that provides standards-based academic instruction and a compassionate approach to working with students with challenging learning and social behaviors.  We provide ongoing training, support, and opportunities for both experienced and beginning classroom teachers.

You will be a successful ABC Teacher if you wish to:

  • Receive ongoing education and training in behavior analysis, the Picture Exchange Communication System, evidence-based practices in education in autism, Pro-ACT training, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Have a professional support structure including ongoing consultation and training from Board Certified Behavior Analysts and fully credentialed teachers

  • Access resources for an effective classroom such as Unique Learning System, a quarterly curriculum budget, school-provided classroom supplies, and a monthly reinforcer budget

  • Maintain a classroom with a high staff to student ratio with a maximum of 12 students and 5-8 support staff who receive Registered Behavior Technician training and ongoing supervision support

  • Earn a competitive salary and tuition reimbursement

Qualified Candidates will hold one of the following:

  • Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Moderate/Severe Specialization

  • Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Mild/Moderate Specialization with Autism Authorization

  • Intern Credential eligible through a university credential program—candidates eligible for a provisional internship permit may also be considered
